SBEF Yellow Rose Ball Celebrates SBISD Staff and Students

Nearly 300 guests in chic Western wear joined Co-Chairs Kim Huston, Kristin Thomas, and Rebekah James for the Yellow Rose Ball on Saturday, April 6 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Attendees enthusiastically supported Spring Branch ISD with more than $316,000 for campus and district programs.

Co-Chair and SBEF board member Kristin Thomas is impressed with the passion shown by the community. “We are amazed by what our community does each year to support the students and teachers of Spring Branch ISD. During the Yellow Rose Ball, guests enthusiastically raised almost $8,700 for school supplies for economically disadvantaged students to have the tools they need for success in the classroom and an incredible $24,000 for scholarships for the graduating Class of 2024 to pursue technical certificates or 2-year or 4-year college and university degrees. When our students and teachers need our help, our community responds in big ways.”
Since 1993, Spring Branch Education Foundation has supported Spring Branch ISD, which has become even more critical when our families face financial pressures and our district struggles without the budgetary funding it requires. SBEF partners with Spring Branch ISD and the community to fund programs that enhance education and prepare our students for the future. For the last eight years, SBEF has given more than $1 million to Spring Branch ISD annually. In 2023, SBEF also funded 46 SBISD teacher and department grant request totaling $283,950, provided school supplies for each economically disadvantaged student at every SBISD Title I and non-Title I pre-kindergarten, elementary, and middle schools, and awarded $319,500 in scholarships to graduating SBISD seniors.
